Transit Warrant Terms & Conditions
Southern Riverina Livestock & Property Livestock-In-Transit Delivery Warranty
Terms and Conditions
What is the Warranty?
The Southern Riverina Livestock & Property (SRLP) Livestock-In-Transit Delivery Warranty (Warranty) is an unconditional warranty (subject to the exclusions outlined below) that livestock transacted through SRLP will be delivered alive and will not need to be destroyed for humane reasons prior to release from the unloading yards.
What happens if the livestock are not delivered alive?
Where the specific value of the livestock that dies is known, SRLP will pay that amount to you (less levies, commissions and other charges that would ordinarily be payable).
Where the specific value of the livestock that dies is not known, SRLP will then multiply the average value by the number of animals that have died and pay the resulting amount to you (less levies, commissions and other charges that would ordinarily be payable). SRLP will calculate the average value of the livestock in the consignment by reference to:
For existing SRLP clients, the Warranty has applied from 1 August 2018 and applies to the same transactions that it applied to prior to that date. For new SRLP clients, you may nominate whether you wish the Warranty to apply when you sell livestock through SRLP, when you buy livestock through SRLP, or where you both sell and buy livestock through SRLP. The Warranty will apply to transactions made through SRLP until you notify us that you no longer wish to have the benefit of the Warranty.
The Warranty applies where SRLP has sold the livestock, and where SRLP processes or will process the sale (whether by way of bulk billing or otherwise). The Warranty commences when the livestock enter into the yards for loading onto the truck, continues during transit, and ceases once the livestock have been released from the unloading yards. The Warranty covers commercial livestock but does not include stud stock.
What is the cost of the Warranty?
The cost of the Warranty is a percentage (nominated by SRLP from time to time) of the sale price of the livestock and will be charged to your SRLP account.
Are there any exclusions to the Warranty?
The Warranty does apply to loss incurred as a result of:
You should contact your SRLP agent immediately and provide full details of the loss, including: the number of livestock that have died; the description of the dead livestock; details of the disposal of the dead livestock; supporting pictures; and tag numbers.
